25 new COVID-19 cases reported in Jharsuguda district, tally reached 46

NFTV:Odisha: Jharsuguda: Jharsuguda district witnessed the highest ever spike in COVID-19 positive cases with the detection of 25 fresh cases in the district. With the detection of these fresh cases, the total tally of positive cases reached 46 in the district. 20 positive cases are detected from the Brajrajnagar municipality, meanwhile, 5 cases detected from the Jharsuguda municipality.

The positive cases from Brajrajnagar municipality, 17 positive cases reported from OPM colony containment zone, The cases are 35 years old male, 23 years old male, 31 years old female, 50 years old female, 55 years old male,2 years old male, 78 years old female, 32 years old male,5 years old female, 13 years old female,56 years old male, 21 years old female, 54 years old female,38 years male,73 years old female, 35 years old female and 28 years old male are from OPM colony containment zone, all come in contact with the previous positive case from OPM colony, meanwhile, a 32 years old female tested positive for COVID-19, she was under institutional quarantine at NAC Girls High School.

Meanwhile, mother and son tested positive for COVID-19 in Mandalia locality of Brajrajnagar. One positive case is a 29 years old female and another is a 7-year-old male. Both the patient are Mumbai returnee and they were in-home quarantine and today they are tested positive. The family has returned from Mumbai via Delhi to Jharsuguda by direct New Delhi- Jharsuguda flight on the 11th of June, after their registration in Khaliakani CHC they were advised to stay at the home quarantine. The biggest concern is that the 60 to 70 co-passengers in that New Delhi- Jharsuguda flight and that unknown Bolero driver in which this family came back to Mandalia from VSS Airport, Jharsuguda.

The positive cases reported from Jharsuguda municipality, A 50 years old female, and a 29 years old female tested positive from Sarbahal locality and both are under home quarantine before they tested positive for COVID-19. A 27 years old male tested positive for COVID-19 from Collectorate office road locality, he was also in home quarantine before tested positive and the fourth positive case of Jharsuguda municipality is a 23 years old male and he was in paid quarantine in Hotel Shankar in Beheramal of Jharsuguda. A 13 years old boy from Mungapada locality of Jharsuguda town tested positive for COVID-19 and having mild symptoms of the deadly virus even the patient visited some local hospitals in Jharsuguda.

After the detection of these 25 COVID-19 positive cases, Jharsuguda collector told to media that the bulk of positive cases came from the OPM colony containment zone and all the COVID-19 patients were coming in contact with the previous positive cases. meanwhile, other cases are under quarantine and the contact tracing is in the process.

Medicals teams have been engaged and all the new COVID-19 positive cases are taken to dedicated COVID-19 facilities.
