BJD Leader and Ex MLA Brajrajnagar Anup Sai arrested by Chakradharnagar police in connection with a murder case

NFTV:Odisha: Jharsuguda: Former MLA of Brajrajnagar and BJD Anup Sai arrested by Chakradharnagar police come under Raigarh district of Chhattisgarh for his alleged involvement in a double murder case occurred in 2016.

According to the report, Chakradharnagar police with the help of Brajrajnagar police picked up Sai from a Sai temple near to his native home in Bagarachaka of Brajrajnagar last night, later Anup Sai was taken to Chakradharnagar Police station and interrogated him in connection with the murder case and arrested. The Chakradharnagar police are investigating the murder of a woman identified as Kalpana Das (32) and her 14-year-old daughter Pravati Das in April 2016. The bodies of the mother-daughter duo were later recovered in the neighbouring state. According to Chakradharnagar police, they have traced Sai from the call details and various sources including neighbours of deceased Kalpana Das. Reportedly, Anup Sai was served several notices for appearance. But as Anup Sai failed to appear.

Anup Sai, who is currently serving as the chairman of  Odisha Warehousing Corporation, was elected as Brajarajnagar MLA  thrice on Congress ticket. He later had joined BJD in 2014 and lost the election.
