Anup Sai tested positive for COVID-19

NFTV:Odisha:Jharsuguda: Anup Sai former MLA of Brajrnagar assembly segment of Odisha, currently who is under trial prisoner as the prime accused of Kalpana Dash and Babli murder case in Raigarh district jail of Chhattisgarh found positive for COVID-19. According to the Superintendent of Raigarh district jail, Mr.N.K. Deheria, On 25th of August Anup Sai was hospitalized at the Jindal hospital in Raigarh after complaining of Chest pain. After observing his health condition doctors decided to take his swab for the COVID-19 test later Anup Sai was tested positive for COVID-19. Earlier three inmates of Raigarh district jail tested positive for COVID-19. After tested positive for COVID-19, Anup Sai has been shifted to Medical College Hospital ( MCH ), Raigarh for further treatment of COVID-19. Says, Chief Medical officer, Raigarh, Dr. S.N. Keshri.

Anup Sai is in Raigarh Jail after he was arrested back on February 12th, 2020 allegedly in connection with a double murder of Mother-daughter duo named Kalpana Dash (32) and Babli (14) back in the year 2016. On the 12th of February 2020 the Chakradharnagar police with the help of Brajrajnagar police picked up Sai from a Sai temple near to his native home in Bagarachaka of Brajrajnagar, later Anup Sai was taken to Chakradharnagar Police station and interrogated him in connection with the murder case and arrested. The Chakradharnagar police are investigating the murder of a woman identified as Kalpana Dash (32) and her 14-year-old daughter Babli on May 07, 2016. The bodies of the mother-daughter duo were later recovered in the neighboring state. According to Chakradharnagar police, they have traced Sai from the call details and various sources including neighbors of deceased Kalpana Das.
