COVID-19: Odisha govt imposes complete lockdown on four districts and one municipal corporation

NFTV:Odisha: Bhubaneswar: In view of the surging number of COVID-19 affected people, today government of Odisha decided to imposed 14 days complete lockdown in four worst-affected districts and one municipal corporation in Odisha. Addressing a media briefing Chief Secretary of Odisha Mr. Asit Tripathy announces that complete lockdown in Ganjam, Khurda, Cuttack, Jajpur districts & Rourkela Municipal corporation area comes under Sundargarh district in the Western part of Odisha. The will become in force Lockdown from tomorrow at 9 PM till July 31st midnight. Chief Secretary Asit Tripathy said the 14-day lockdown will be imposed in Ganjam, Khordha, Cuttack and Jajpur districts and Rourkela Municipal Corporation (RMC) area. “Around 66% case load are being reported from Ganjam, Khordha, Cuttack and Jajpur districts,” the Chief Secretary informed. Shops selling groceries, vegetables, milk to remain open from 6 AM till 1 PM during the lockdown. meanwhile, Ganjam reported the highest numbers of COVID-19 cases in Odisha with 4,867, followed by Khordha 1,594, Cuttack 1,114, Jajapur 934 and Sundargarh ( including Rourkela Municipal Corporation ) 750 .
