Editor NFTV to conduct webinar in Odia by Google News Intiative on how to combat misinformation during Covid19 pandemic

NFTV: Odisha: Jharsuguda: Founder editor of NFTV, Mr. Amjad Badshah who is a passionate journalist and media academician is to conduct webinar on 9th of May in Odia language on how to combat misinformation during Covid19 pandemic. This webinar will be conducted by Google News Initiative(GNI) and Daraleads. Mr. Badshah is the first batch of the 40 members fact checkers team being trained by Google News Initiative. Keeping in view of his vast experience of Odia regional tv news and media teaching, he is popular in digital news platform and being followed by large number of readers on social media platform. In a crucial period where fake news in shape of misinformation is disturbing the media landscape, his effort in reaching out to Odia journalists with regard to fighting fake news, would definitely benefit the journalist fraternity and public in general. This is the second round of the webinar series by GNI. The training will be done by Google News Initiative trainers in various Indian languages to benefit local journalists. Ever since the news of his webinar in Odia has been surfaced, many congratulatory messages are now pouring in. Mr. Badshah has appealed the Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik to encourage more health policy makers to register in the said webinar to further the fight against misinformation in Covid19 pandemic.
