Four accused tried to escape custody when they were taken to the crime scene around 50 km from Hyderabad for a reconstruction of the crime says Cyberabad Police.
All four accused arrested last week for the gruesome rape and murder of a 26-year-old veterinarian named Disha (changed name ) were gunned by Cyberabad police in an alleged encounter on the spot where they brutally gang-raped and murdered the vet by setting fire on her.
According to Cyberabad Police, the four accused — Mohammed Areef (26), Jollu Shiva (20), Jollu Naveen (20) and Chintakunta Chennakeshavulu (20) were tried to escape from police custody when they were taken to the crime scene around 3:30 am near Shadnagar, around 50 kilometers from Hyderabad. Police said all four accused were taken to the spot for a reconstruction of the crime. to escape. Two policemen were also injured in this encounter.
On the 5th of December, the Shadnagar court had remanded the four accused Mohammed Areef (26), Jollu Shiva (20), Jollu Naveen (20) and Chintakunta Chennakeshavulu (20) to seven-days police remand for further investigation. The Hyderabad police on Monday had filed a petition in Shadnagar court seeking 10-day custody of the accused. The court, on Wednesday, had granted seven-day police custody of the accused.
On November 27, a 26-year-old vet from Hyderabad was gang-raped and killed allegedly by the gang of four at Thondupally toll gate on Outer Ring Road, in Shamshabad of Telangana .
