NFTV : Chattisgarh : Raigarh : In a sensational murder mystery, former  MLA of Brajrajnagar, Anup Sai confessed that he had killed Kalpana Das (32)and her 14-year-old daughter in 2016, as the deceased was insisting him to marry and share his property with her. In a press meet, Raigarh SP Santosh Kumar said that Anup had an illicit relationship with the deceased Kalpana Das after she divorced from her husband in 2005. Both the deceased and Anup were in a live-in relationship and were living together from 2011 to 2016 in the flat of Anup in Sundarpada locality of Bhubaneswar.

“As both of them living together, the deceased had asked repeatedly to marry her but Anup kept on refusing it telling her that he was already married. Afterward, he planned her to kill her. On May 7, 2016, he used a blunt weapon to kill both and later ran a vehicle over them to mutilate the body beyond recognition” said Raigarh SP.

According to Raigarh SP, nearly 700 people were interrogated across six states which includes Odisha, West Bengal, Chhattisgarh, Uttar Pradesh, and Bihar. The prima facie involvement of Anup could have been established after the mobile number of the deceased was being traced.
