RTI Activist found dead in Kendrapada, Family alleges murder

NFTV : Odisha: Kendrapada: a Right to Information activist’s body found dumped close to the roadside near Sinikata of Beruan village in Kendrapada district. The deceased RTI activist was identified as Ranjan Kumar Das, his family members alleged that Ranjan was murdered.

According to reports, Saturday morning Ranjan’s body found dumped near the roadside in Sinikata of Beruan village comes under the Kendrapada district, Marshaghai police reached the spot and sent the body for post mortem. Cops also seized Ranjan’s motorcycle that was lying beside the body.

Ranjan Kumar Das was a prominent RTI activist of Kendrapada district, previously he had unearthed many corruption . As per initial reports, it is suspected that Ranjan might have been murdered because of political enmity because he alerted locals about the corruption in the various government schemes including Pradhan Mantri Rozgar Yojana (PMRY) and Pradhan Mantri Gramin Awaas Yojana (PMGAY), previously known as Indira Awaas Yojana (IAY). The locals have staged a protest in the locality against this cold-blooded murder of the RTI activist Ranjan Kumar Das.
