LPG Tanker develops leak after collision with truck
NFTV:Odisha: Sambalpur: Two drivers burnt alive after a head-on collision between an LPG Gas tanker and a truck in front of Jujumura police station on National Highway-55 last night Sambalpur district of Odisha. Both the deceased were identified as drivers of ill-fated Truck and tanker both the drivers were charred to death on the spot of the accident after the cabin of the LPG tanker caught fire. As per the locals, the tanker carrying LPG consignment and was en-route to its destination when the driver of the truck which was coming from the opposite direction failed to spot the tanker and crashed the truck from front. Jujumura police and fire officials rushed to the accident spot and started rescue operation but it was too late both the drivers were charred to death later police and fire officials defused the fire and recovered both the body. In between the LPG tanker develops a leak and the LPG gas coming out of it. The police and fire officials closed the traffic on NH 55 and start the operation to transfer the LPG gas but lack of equipment they were forced to halt the operation. While a team of rescue experts and an LPG tanker coming from Baleswar to did the rest of the rescue works.
